I remember when I first moved to L.A. and how fascinating it was to be in the midst of the entertainment capital of the world. One of the most desired places for fashion, shopping, film, television, and ultimately where Vision In Vogue would be created.
But there’s only one show that really put this town in the map, Beverly Hills 90210.
We remember Jennie Garth as a major part of the series, playing one of the main characters, Kelly Taylor.
But since being on one of the most iconic tv shows everrrr, Jennie became a wife, mother, and now… business owner. Launching a clothing line called “Me” and a podcast called “I Choose Me."
So it’s giving… she’s in her “Me season” and I’m here for it. But her transition from actress to entrepreneur was birthed out of her personal journey to learning how to choose herself.
So many of us are programmed to believe that there’s something with putting ourselves first. But Jennie shattered that mentality when she realized that if she wanted real peace, she would have to learn to prioritize her well-being.
After spending her teen years and most of her 20s on a hit television show where most decisions were made on her behalf, Jennie realized she lost herself.
I’ve totally been there and honestly, it’s something I consistently struggle with. Burying my head in work without stopping to question if I’m happy or if I’m prioritizing my own needs.
The idea that our value is rooted in how much we can do for others at the expense of our own mental health and sanity is self-destructive.
Now Jennie’s spreading that message with her fashion line and podcast while having the time of her life.
How you treat yourself is the foundation that everything in your life flows from. It is not selfish to put yourself first, it’s necessary.
We have a limited amount of time here on earth and the world around us is more beautiful when the world inside us is peaceful.
So before putting yourself on the back-burner again, consider embracing Jenni’s affirmation… “I Choose Me.” Your vision is depending on it.
